Members of the public wishing to offer comments during the meeting, either generally or on a specific agenda item, can do so remotely by utilizing the “hand-raising” feature within the Zoom platform. The Chair will acknowledge those who wish to speak. Generally, speakers are allotted up to three minutes for their comments. For those who prefer to submit written feedback, public comments, limited to 250 words or fewer, can be sent via email to the Assistant Clerk of the Board.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the county is committed to ensuring full accessibility for all participants. Individuals requiring special assistance to participate in the meeting are encouraged to contact the Clerk of the Board at (760) 878-0373. To allow for reasonable arrangements, a notification period of 48 hours prior to the meeting is requested. Furthermore, if a disability necessitates an alternative format for the meeting agenda, attendees should notify the Clerk of the Board 72 hours in advance to enable the county to provide the agenda in a suitable format. These accommodations are in accordance with 28 CFR 35.102-35.104 ADA Title II and Government Code Section 54954.2.

To ensure public transparency regarding meeting documentation, any writings that are public records related to an open session agenda item for this regular meeting, and which are distributed less than 72 hours before the meeting, will be made available for public inspection. These documents can be reviewed at the Office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, located at 224 N. Edwards, Independence, California. This provision is made available as per Government Code § 54957.5(b)(1).
