A new business internet solution, SuperBroadband, is now available, combining T-Mobile’s 5G network with Starlink to address common connectivity challenges for companies. This service is designed to offer enhanced redundancy, broad coverage, and simplified management, aiming to redefine internet expectations for businesses. Industry leaders in hospitality, retail, healthcare, and oil and gas sectors have already adopted SuperBroadband to strengthen their operations.
Businesses frequently contend with unreliable internet service, limited coverage, and complex connectivity setups. Even brief periods of downtime can lead to significant financial losses, with an average cost exceeding $100,000 per hour across various industries, according to International Data Corporation. To mitigate this risk, many organizations have historically sought a second internet service provider for redundancy. However, a second provider is not always an option, particularly for businesses located in remote or rural areas that often remain underserved by traditional wired connections, leaving them with limited access to dependable internet.
For organizations operating across multiple locations, the task of identifying and managing different primary and backup internet providers introduces considerable complexity. One study highlighted that large enterprise businesses might manage more than 20 different internet service providers across their various sites. This situation often forces businesses to piece together regional and local internet services, contend with incompatible hardware, and navigate disparate management tools from multiple vendors, each with separate contracts, pricing structures, and support models. Small and medium-sized businesses, which often lack the dedicated time or IT capacity to manage such complexities, have found reliable connectivity difficult to attain.
SuperBroadband seeks to provide connectivity without compromise, offering a resilient and fully managed broadband solution. By automatically leveraging multiple connection paths, the service helps maintain business operations during outages and extends reliable coverage to virtually any business location in the U.S., including those in remote and rural regions. It is delivered as a single service, featuring one contract, one bill, nationwide support, and professional installation. T-Mobile states that this approach simplifies connectivity while delivering the reliability, reach, and flexibility necessary for businesses to remain productive.
André Almeida, President of Growth and Emerging Businesses for T-Mobile, commented on the new offering, stating that "Connectivity shouldn’t stop where your business starts." He further explained that the solution was built to be resilient, widely available, and simple to deploy, use, and scale. Almeida noted the goal is to remove complexity from connectivity and replace it with dependable service, allowing businesses of any size to focus on their outcomes rather than technical obstacles.
In addition to the core connectivity, businesses can gain visibility and control over their entire network through T-Platform. This unified portfolio platform offers a centralized management experience, providing real-time insights into hardware, performance, usage, and network health. It also tracks backup readiness and failover events. With T-Platform, businesses can monitor connectivity, manage resilience, and maintain continuity through a single, integrated portal. This centralized approach allows larger enterprises to reallocate IT teams to more strategic projects, while smaller businesses can access a level of reliability and support previously available only to the largest customers.
Jason Fritch, Vice President of Starlink Enterprise Sales for SpaceX, emphasized that integrating Starlink with T-Mobile 5G brings reliable, high-performance broadband to businesses with mission-critical operations where downtime costs thousands per hour. He highlighted the quick and easy setup, which provides immediate productivity even in the most remote locations. Fritch added that this combined service helps keep operations running when other paths fail and expands connectivity to new locations.
